SUSLA sets up 2013 government job shadowing program

Southern University at Shreveport’s Upward Bound North Program will announce the elected and City of Shreveport officials who are committed to participating in this summer’s Job Shadowing program.

The announcement comes at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Government Plaza in downtown Shreveport.

Women’s group awards $85,000 grant to affect education outcomes

The Community Foundation’s Women’s Philanthropy Network voted at its annual meeting on May 21, 2013 to award the LSUS Foundation’s LaPrep and its associated programs with an $85,536 grant.

Community Renewal is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Angel Award, which willl be presented at the Celebration of Caring - Saturday, April 20, in the Red River District in downtown Shreveport.

The deadline for nominations is April 5. This year's Celebration of Caring starts 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Red River District.

Goodwill Industries to host job fair to fill 80 positions

Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana has 80 jobs to fill for a local employer and will hold a job fair in search of applicants.

Goodwill's job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, and Thursday, April 11, at the 70th Street Job Center at 800 West 70th Street, Shreveport.
