33rd Annual POW/Purple Heart luncheon at BAFB Fri. | Community Spirit

All former Prisoners of War (POW) and recipients of the Purple Heart for combat wounds during past and present wars are cordially invited to attend the 33rd Annual POW/Purple Heart luncheon at Barksdale AFB on Friday 27 April at 11am.

The cost is $20 for all, but includes the cost of the meal, "T" Shirts, coins and caps. However, if the veteran cannot afford the cost, someone will donate his cost.

Spouses and guests are invited.

The event will include full military pageantry including veterans passing thru the Cordon of Swords held by the Barksdale AFB Honor Guard.

The Guest Speaker will be General William Fraser III, past Commander 2nd Bomb Wing, BAFB and currently Commander of U.S. Transportation Command and is a candidate for the next Chief of Staff, USAF.

The luncheon at BAFB is considered one of the biggest and best held in our nation honoring our local heroes of all wars. Last year 46 former POW's and 179 recipients of the PH attended this special military event.
