“Miracle Babies” invited to CHRISTUS' 34th Christmas reunion | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
CHRISTUS Sutton Children’s Medical Center is once again calling all “Miracle Babies,” who have overcome the odds of prematurity and developmental problems in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for the annual NICU Christmas Reunion.
The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 9 in the Schumpert cafeteria at One St. Mary Place. This will be the 34th annual reunion for the nurses, physicians, parents and patients.
More than 100 children – many of them multiples and most in Christmas finery – are expected to pack the hospital’s cafeteria for the event. Ranging from a few months to their mid-twenties, the NICU alumni and their families will reunite with the nurses, doctors and other clinical staff who helped them survive prematurity, developmental difficulties and critical illness at birth. Families meet with fellow parents, reunite with hospital staff, scour scrapbooks and visit with Santa.
All NICU graduates are invited to attend. For easy access, attendees may park in front of Sutton Children’s Medical Center and walk straight down the hall to the reunion.
