The honorees were presented with medallions Tuesday (January 15) at a citywide observance celebrating the legacy of the slain Civil Rights leader. The event was held at the historic Galilee Baptist Church.
The recipients for 2013 are:
- Dr. Brondwyn Holliway-Alford, Pediatrician
- Foster Campbell, Louisiana Public Service Commission Chairman
- Willie Singleton, Attorney and former state legislator
- Maude Warner, mother of three children who drowned in Red River in 2010
``Each of our recipients exemplify the spirit of leadership, courage, hope, love and compassion for others that Dr. King taught throughout his magnificent life,’’ Mayor Glover said. ``They honor him with their daily commitment to excellence and determination to make this world a better place for all of us.’’
