SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- A man who was killed in an accident on North Market and I-220 Wednesday morning has been identified.

Shreveport Police say the accident happened just before 9 a.m. on North Market Street near the I-220 on-ramp when a green 1997 Ford pickup truck and an 2004 Peterbuilt 18-wheeler collided.

Police say the 18-wheeler was south bound on North Market and turning east onto I-220 when the pickup truck which was north bound on North Market went through a red light and collided with the 18-wheeler. 

Shreveport Fire Department Assistant Chief Fred Sanders says the driver of the green pickup, 69-year-old Phillip D. Chamberlain was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler, 43-year-old Jeannie M. Blake was taken to Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Bossier City by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described a non-life threatening injuries

The investigation is ongoing at this hour.
