As Millennials graduate into the workforce and Baby Boomers retire, downtowns across the country as seeing a surge of interest in urban living. A recent article in Forbes magazine reported that downtowns are seeing a double-digit increase in residential growth.

Once every two years, the Downtown Development Authority, with the help of downtown residents and owners, hosts its popular Downtown Residential Open House. This year’s tour runs from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18. The tour will run the gamut from open concept lofts to penthouse pads to a suite where stars lounge in between movie shoots.

Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana has 80 jobs to fill for a local employer and will hold a job fair in search of applicants.

Goodwill's job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, and Thursday, April 11, at the 70th Street Job Center at 800 West 70th Street, Shreveport.

The annual Organizational Meeting of Shreveport Farmers’ Market will be held on Wednesday, March, 20 for vendors who wish to sell in the market for the summer season. 

Interested parties may attend meetings at either 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. at 101 Crockett St, Suite B, in Festival Plaza. Policies, operation, procedures, and changes for 2013 will be discussed.
