Shreveport residents are asked to provide feedback on the latest plan for the I-49 Inner City Connector. There will be three meetings discussing the plans:
The 2nd Annual Asbury Motor Club Chili Cookoff will run from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Drive in Bossier City.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close one lane of traffic on part of LA Hwy. 1 (Youree Dr.) heading both north and south starting on July 17.

North Louisiana-based Goodwill Industries announces that it has been selected as one of 500 nonprofit finalists in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program.
The automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days. Goodwill was selected as a finalist from more than 4,000 applications nationwide.
Each day, beginning May 14, 2012, 100 Cars for Good will profile five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com.
A late morning accident in north Shreveport sent one driver to the hospital and another driver to jail. The accident happened about 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of North Market. Caddo Deputies say a white SUV was heading south while the other small car was traveling north. Both vehicles were in the center turn lane when they hit each other head-on. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the SUV was arrested after deputies found the drug Meth inside the vehicle.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A car was found on fire early Wednesday morning in Shreveport's Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood and now Shreveport Fire investigators are looking into the incident.
